Nyrstar Budel is part of the global multi-metals group Nyrstar, with a market leading position in zinc and lead. In July 2019, Nyrstar became majority owned by Trafigura, one of the world's leading independent commodity trading companies. One of the smelters is located in Budel-Dorplein (between Weert and Eindhoven), also known in the area as “de Zink”, where more than 450 employees ensure that exceptionally high quality zinc is produced every day. And that since 1892!
