[Save the date] - Batavierenrace 2026

After last year’s unfortunate cancellation, Japie will participate in the Batavierenrace again! This year the Batavierenrace will take place from the 8th of May until the 9th of May. This fantastic relay running event has earned its place in the Guinness Book of Records as the longest relay race, with over 8000 students participating each year. The race course starts in the city center of Nijmegen and finishes at the University of Twente, covering a total of 175 km. The teams consist of 25 runners (16 men and 9 women) who split the individual stages. The length of these stages can range between 3.5 and 10.7 km.
Of course, this weekend will not only consist of running, there will also be a party in Enschede until early in the morning. So, if you think you want to participate in this awesome event, save the date!
In preparation for this event, a running clinic will be provided for all participants. The date of the running clinic will be announced at a later time.
To get back into running again, the BaCcIE also made a running group on Strava. Every week there will be a new running challenge that you can complete for points.
